Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
HighTine ("Tine," "we," "us") is a hunting scouting and analysis app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, used to identify your account and manage your subscription. You can sign in with email/password, Google, or Sign in with Apple.
- Location data: GPS coordinates and property boundaries you draw or place on the map, used to provide satellite imagery, weather conditions, and terrain-based hunting predictions for your specific hunting grounds.
- Photos: images you choose to upload of harvested or scouted game, stored so you can track your trophy collection over time. We only access your photo library or camera when you choose to add a photo. Our AI buck-scoring tool (beta) runs entirely on your device — a photo you use it on is never sent to us or any third party for that scoring.
- Usage data: how you use app features (e.g., which analyses you run), used to enforce plan limits and improve the app.
- Subscription/payment status: whether you have an active Pro subscription. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment card details.
How we use your information
We use your information to operate the app's core features (mapping, terrain and weather-based hunting predictions, your trophy vault), to enforce the usage limits of your plan, to process and verify your subscription, and to improve the app over time. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services we use
- Firebase (Google): account authentication, data storage, and the account-deletion and weather-lookup functions described below.
- Mapbox: satellite imagery and mapping.
- Amazon Web Services: runs the terrain analysis (elevation, cover, land features) that powers predictions.
- Apple WeatherKit: live weather conditions (pressure, wind, temperature, precipitation) — requested through our own server on your behalf so your device never contacts Apple's weather service directly with your exact coordinates tied to your identity.
- NOAA/National Weather Service: a public weather data source used alongside WeatherKit for live conditions. We don't send NOAA any of your personal data — we only read their public weather feeds.
- RevenueCat: subscription management — verifies your purchase with Apple/Google on our behalf.
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms, in addition to this policy.
Data retention and your choices
You can delete individual properties, stands, markers, and vault entries directly in the app at any time. You can also permanently delete your entire account and all associated data yourself, immediately, from inside the app — Profile → App Settings → Delete Account. This cannot be undone. If you'd rather reach us directly instead, email us at the address below and we'll process the request.
Children's privacy
HighTine is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
